Mojácar‘s roads are known for their kilometres of heavenly variety for all cycling fanatics – winding, curved, uphill, downhill, flat, and uneven. It attracts cyclists with days of glorious sunshine and breath-taking scenery – the perfect setting for bike rides lasting for many hours.
The versatility of the roads, along with very little traffic, is overwhelming. You drive through plantations full of juicy oranges and shiny olives in the hilly desert landscapes. The gigantic rock formations, which stretch along the steep, twisting roads, take cyclists’ breath away. And if the Andalusían mountains were not impressive enough, the palm tree-lined coastal roads provide a perfect contrast. On the promenade overlooking the sea, cyclists are invited to relax and to enjoy the fresh sea air, amongst an ice-cold beer.
Mountain bikers find their treats in the surrounding mountains, which offer anything from gentle ascents to skyrocketing difficult tracks and bringing your body to absolute limits.
The stunning scenery, perfectly developed roads leading you up to more than 1000m heights will make every biker’s heart beat faster. With a bit of luck, you might even ride across some famous racing tour professionals from Team Katusha or Belkin, who pitch their winter-trainings camps here in Mojácar.
If your legs turn to jelly now thinking that you need to be a real freak to cycle in our area, then calm down – you can also enjoy the beautiful surroundings around one of the most beautiful white villages of Spain and its endless coastline with an E-Bike, which will “invisibly” support you going up some of the hills around us without anybody even knowing.
