The TOP 3 attractions in Almería

1

The Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park is a certified UNESCO Global Geopark. The park abounds in outstanding nature, impressive landscapes as well as the most magnificent coves imaginable.

2

A further highlight is the only European desert - the spectacular Tabernas Desert. We recommend going on a guided Jeep Tour from our partner Malcaminos. The geological and archaeological features are easily missed when exploring it on one's own. You'll also pass one or the other film set - along with a pertinent anecdote - on the tour. You can then deepen your newly acquired knowledge at the ancient western villages further along the tour.

3

The second largest geode in the world – and, in fact, the largest geode accessible to the public in the world – is near Pulpí. If you fancy a surreal spectacle underground, we advise you to buy your tickets well in advance Just send us an email and we'll take care of it.

As there are so many sites and activities to visit, it would go beyond the scope to list them all in one article. That’s why we dedicated an entire page to the activities in our province. There you’ll find a comprehensive overview of all the attractions in Almería and its surroundings. We’ll add new sites to the list regularly. So, it’s definitely worth taking a look from time to time 🙂 .

Oh, by the way, if we’ve gone and done something exciting, we’ll let you in on all the juicy insights on our blog …

Activities in Almería – by land, sea and air

Of course, we are fully aware that there are one or two that aren’t too keen on visiting attractions. If culture programme and going on tours aren’t really your cup of tea and you’d much rather do activities that require, to a greater or lesser extent, physical effort, then you’ve come to the right place. Or if it’s active movement you’re looking for in between all the culture and beach 🙂 – Almería has far more to offer than you might expect.

Mojácar has been known as a paradise for cyclists for many years and offers everything a cyclists’ heart could possibly wish for. Whether you want to master one of the countless trails on your mountain bike, pelt down winding roads along the coast on your racer, conquer the meanest gravel pistes on your gravel bike or just cruise along enjoying the beautiful scenic views on your e-bike, you’ll find it all here in Mojácar.

Our area is still internationally little-known as a true paradise for hikers and nature lovers alike. The hiking tours go past areas of unspoilt nature and offer wonderful moments of surprise time and again. But this must suffice for the time being, because more will not yet be revealed. Needless to say, that we’ve also dedicated a separate page to hiking in our area.

It goes without saying that our area caters for almost every kind of water sports imaginable: snorkelling, diving, kayaking and standup paddleboarding, sailing, surfing and kiting, you name it – no water sport enthusiast will be left stranded. If you want to surf the Mediterranean wave in a newfangled way, you can go wakeboarding and flyboarding just “round the corner”. It seems almost too profane to mention hiring a pedal boat in the same breath, but that, too, is possible. And … guess what … you can even go swimming 🙂 .

There are several superb golf courses. We will show you the most important courses around Mojácar.

Riding, paragliding, skiing … there’s actually nothing, you can’t do here.

… the weather in Mojácar in the coming days:

The province of Almería is spoiled with an average of 320 days of sunshine and more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year … I think we have already mentioned that elsewhere 🙂 .
