Is there a possibility for parking and what are the costs?

We have a parking onsite, which is free of charge for our guests. It is totally fenced and secure!

What time is check-in and check-out?

Our general check-in hours are from 16.30h until 19.00h and check-out must take place until 11.00h.
Please note that if you #bookdirect on our website an early check-in as well as a late check-out are always possible! In that case please contact us at least 24 hours before arrival.

Can I buy gift certificates for a stay at your place?

Yes, sure you can. Just send us an Email with the amount you’d like to give away. We’ll send you an invoice and as soon as we have received the payment we will send you the gift voucher. If you have stayed with us before you will not need to pay in advance. We will send out the gift voucher with the invoice, which you can transfer within 7 days. This makes it easy to buy a last-minute gift 🙂

Is your pool heated?

We have a heat pump installed guarantee a minimum temperature of 26°C all year round.

What is the best way to make a reservation?

The best way to make a reservation is always to book directly through the booking tool on our website. We guarantee best price, lots of free-of-charge perks (e.g. sun chairs and umbrella for your beach day), free room upgrade if available and more.

How many rooms does the Cortijo have?

In total Cortijo El Sarmiento offers 7 rooms of which 3 are standard rooms, 2 superior rooms and 2 really spacious Garden Suites.

Do you have a SPA?

We do have a very cosy SPA with a Sauna and a huge shower with all sorts of gimmicks. In the same area we also offer our different massages, facials and other wellness treatments.

Do you offer special arrangements or discounts?

Yes, on our website you will find both; packages and offers. If you subscribe to our newsletter you’ll get even more of all those lovely packages and great discounts.

Does your place have air conditioning / central heating?

All of our rooms have air conditioning. If you are planning to stay with us in winter it might also be good to know we have central heating in all rooms, because it can get quite cool and damp at night time. Our central heating as well as the fireplace in the dining and lounge area will make you feel comfortable even during the cooler months.

What time is breakfast?

Our breakfast time is from 09.00h until 10.30h. If you have an early flight back home we will arrange some special breakfast with you the day before, as we certainly don’t want you to leave our house hungry 🙂

Do I need to rent a car for a stay at Cortijo El Sarmiento?

Well, you do not necessarily need a car. From Almeria airport you can find taxis and shuttle busses. BUT from any other airport it might get more expensive than a rental car. Please bear in mind that we are on the outskirts of Mojacar, so if you want to enjoy the beaches, the bars, Chiringuitos and Restaurants of the area you do depend on a car. And if we talk about excursions to Almeria, the desert, the natural park of Cabo de Gata you will have no chance to see all this without a car.
To sum it up, NO you don’t need a rental car, but a stay in this area is a lot better with a rental car.

Do you have a hot tub at guests disposal?

For hygienic reasons we decided not to offer a hot tub in this very hot area.

Can I bring my pet?

Please note that we do not permit pets at our Bed and Breakfast. This is not because we do not like pets – actually the opposite is true. But we want everyone to enjoy their dream vacation including people who are allergic to pet hair or have asthma. It’s hard to get rid of pet fur even when our cleaner does a great job. We thank you for your understanding!

Does Cortijo El Sarmiento offer free WiFi?

There is free and very fast WiFi available on the entire premises. The password will be handed out upon arrival.

Wow, that’s a huge one. There are lots of things to do, but it is impossible to list them all in this tiny FAQ section.

Does the innkeeper live on site?

Yes, we live on site and we are always there in case you need us. Upon arrival you receive both our mobile numbers and can give us a shout whenever needed. Our phones will be switched off at night, but for security reasons we will let you know how to get hold of us in case of an emergency.

Is the accommodation wheelchair accessible?

In the Garden Rooms, we have foreseen a wide and accessible entrance door, as well as lots of space in the room as well as in the bathroom. The parking is just around the corner and the way up to the pool-terrace has no stairs.
We did all this to make it easier for disabled people to stay with us.
But please bear in mind that our house is built on a mountain, so all other areas do have stairs and won’t be accessible.
If you just have mobility restrictions we are sure there won’t be a problem – a 100% wheelchair access is unfortunately not possible.

Does the place have an on-site restaurant or are there any restaurants close by?

We don’t have a restaurant on-site for the simple reason that we want to protect your privacy and the peacefulness of the place. Twice a week we offer a 3-course menu, once a week a wine tasting incl. delicious Andalusian food. And on the nights, nothing is being served at the Cortijo we have lots of restaurants around and we will share our best secrets with you. Driving distance is from 3min – 10min.

Is breakfast included? Are any meals, beverages or food also included?

Our extensive breakfast is always included in our rates. We don’t offer a bed without breakfast. All other meals or drinks are not included and will be invoiced upon your consumption at the end of your stay.
