Will it be safe to go on holiday to Spain this year?

It is the question that has been on our minds – is a COVID-free holiday in Andalusia, Spain, possible this year?

Probably from January 2021 on, we will be able to welcome guests from all over Europe again – that is, if the number of infections with the COVID-19 virus are contained. An exact date has not yet been established, but we will keep you informed about the latest developments via our homepage, Facebook and Instagram.

Would you like to go on holiday somewhere in 2021? … but you are unsure if you will lose your deposit in case of changing circumstances?

We have adapted our conditions for payments and cancellations according to the situation:
To allay your concerns, we will continue our cancellation and rebooking policy as we have done since the beginning of the pandemic. So if you book your holiday with us now, you don’t need to pay a deposit in advance. We will only take a deposit of 50% of your stay one week before your arrival. You can cancel at any time up to this date.

If, contrary to expectations, the situation of SARS-COV-2 changes in the week before your arrival, you can decide whether you want to leave the deposit for a later stay or ask us to transfer the money back to your account. This change to our payment and cancellation policy applies only in relation to Covid-19.

We want you to book knowing that there is absolutely no risk to you.

And now to the good news:

Yes, we certainly believe that even with Corona, a glorious holiday in Andalusia is possible. … and there is much to be said for it.

Almost no Corona in our province Almería.

Andalusia has come through this pandemic very well and our province Almería has remained almost completely COVID-free. The state of emergency has helped keep the virus under control and even now, after the first easing of the situation, the people here keep their distance and act with mutual respect and consideration. This provided us with the security and peace of mind to live through this epidemic and allows us to confidently offer you a great holiday in the aftermath of the Corona crisis.

Social Distancing and a sophisticated hygiene protocol

at check-in

We have only 7 rooms on a 6000 m² property for a maximum of 14 guests. Therefore, “social distancing” should not be a problem. We will also do everything possible to make your stay with us as safe as possible.

This starts with the check-in in the – of course thoroughly cleaned and disinfected – rooms.

Until further notice, we welcome you with mouth-nose protection and gloves. … and lots of disinfectants … 🙂
At the moment there are no plans to measure temperatures because by now we know about the asymptomatic cases. Therefore, we will refrain from doing so for the time being. Should legislation demand it, we will of course immediately adjust our procedures. That goes for all changes within the current regulations.

For the legally required registration, we would like to ask you to send us a copy of your passport or identity card in advance by mail or WhatsApp. This way we can already prepare the check-in accordingly.

Obligation to wear a protective mask

Until we have shown you to your room and the check-in is completed, we would appreciate, if you would wear your protective mask. Because, on the way to your room and while showing you the grounds and other facilities, we cannot always guarantee a distance of 2m.

Otherwise, you only need to wear a mask on the property if you plan to get closer than 2m to us or other guests 🙂

We advise you to always have a mask with you because in all public areas outside our property it is mandatory to wear a mask- No matter where you go!

Safety at the Honesty Bar

Before you take anything from the Honesty Bar or make yourself a coffee or tea, please use sufficient hand sanitizer to clean your hands. It’s really important because we don’t want to have to limit the great opportunity that an Honesty Bar offers.

And please also consider that in Spain, you do not walk around barefoot in public areas! Flip-flops (or other “shoes”) are like masks for your feet.

Meals in times of Corona

Breakfast and dinner in the “new normal”

During the preparation of meals, such as breakfast and dinner, we pay attention to the utmost hygiene and wear protective masks and gloves.

Unfortunately, there will be no breakfast buffet for the duration of the corona crisis. Instead, we serve breakfast at the table on our outdoor terrace by the swimming pool from 9:00 to 10:30 hrs. Of course, we also take into account the prescribed minimum distance of 2m.
Before meals, we ask you to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and use the hand sanitizer provided.

For our “dinner parties” we have come up with a great idea of how these can take place even by keeping the safety distance of 2m. We are sure that the fun and great conversations will contribute to making it once again a well-rounded affair.

Cleaning is the essence of the hygiene protocol

Our rooms are cleaned daily. The rooms will be well ventilated and we will wear personal protective equipment. When cleaning, we will pay special attention to surfaces that are frequently touched.

It is also advisable to ventilate the room as often as possible and to limit the use of air conditioning as much as possible.

When changing rooms, the room will be disinfected with an ozone device, which guarantees that no virus or bacteria will remain undetected 🙂

The swimming pool receives additional sanitation

Our pool is available for use. There is enough space in and around the pool to keep a distance of 2 m. But showering before entering the pool has now become a crucial hygiene and health measure.
It is also important that you use the large protective towel on the sunbed and under the bath towel. The sunbed supports should be touched as little as possible.

The furniture (parasols, sunbeds) at the pool should remain in safe distance and not be moved around unnecessarily. This is the only way we can ensure that everyone stays within sufficient distance from each other and can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. The deck chairs, sunbeds and all other furniture on the terrace are cleaned and disinfected daily.

The water in the swimming pool is checked daily in accordance with the current regulations, and it is treated with the necessary chemicals. Due to the requirements for increased maintenance, this summer the pool will only remain open until 7.00 pm. So we can take care of things before serving dinner.

Coronavirus and possible symptoms

We comply with the protocols outlined by the province for the prevention of COVID-19 contamination (always in accordance with the latest legislative updates). We also use personal protective equipment when preparing meals, when checking-in and during daily cleaning.

However, we are not responsible for the behaviour of individual guests but we are confident that, with our guests, there will be no “issues”. If someone does not adhere to the hygiene regulations, we will address it immediately with the respective person – after all, our health is precious and it matters to all of us.

If despite all precautions, you should have a fever or symptoms of a respiratory infection (dry cough, sore throat, breathing difficulties), you should report this to us immediately. We will immediately inform the responsible health authorities and together decide how we will proceed.

As you can see, we are well prepared and nothing should stand in the way of a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We hope you’ll have a great time with us!
